Kontokali village is centred on a narrow street which runs parallel to the main NorthSouth road and is lined with a few shops, rental agencies, bars and tavernas for about three-quarters of a mile. Many of the buildings are distinctly old but the village lacks Greek character. Much of the waterfront is taken up by a vast marina ? which also has a small general store, cafe and playground ? and the village predominantly caters for the needs of yacht people and locals.
Kontokali Beach Information: Mix of sand and shingle with shallow water, although all beaches are at some distance from the village and the best choices are probably those at Gouvia, about half a mile away. There is a swimming pool, open to the public and free of charge, at the marina.
